Coffee Roasted Fresh to Order, Shipped Roaster-Direct

Most coffee sits in a warehouse for months before it reaches your cup. Ours does not. Fresh Roasted Coffee is a Pennsylvania roastery, family-owned since 2011, and because we are the roaster and not a reseller, we roast our beans and ground coffee to order and ship roaster-direct from our own facility. No middlemen, no guessing at roast dates, just freshly roasted coffee on its way to your door within days of leaving our facility. And, since we are a sustainability-focused roaster, we use a combination of advanced clean roasting technology and renewable energy to ensure you recieve a cup you can feel good about. Find Your Roast Level

If you like a bright, lively cup with citrus, fruit, and floral notes, start with our light roast coffees. For a balanced, crowd-pleasing cup with caramel sweetness and body, browse our medium roasts, our most popular roast level. If bold and smoky is more your speed, our dark and bold roasts deliver deep cocoa and a heavy body. Prefer less caffeine? We roast a full range of decaf and half-caf coffees, including Water Process options that decaffeinate without chemical solvents.

Whole Bean, Ground, Pods, and Every Format In Between

Our coffee is roasted to order and available as whole bean or freshly ground. Most of our coffees also come in single-serve formats: our single-serve coffee pods, BPI-certified compostable envipods, and espresso capsules for OriginalLine-style espresso machines. Brewing by the pot for a crowd or an office? Pre-measured coffee portion packs take the guesswork out, and our office coffee lineup keeps break rooms stocked. Home roasters can buy the same beans we roast as unroasted green coffee.

Single Origin Coffees and Signature Blends

Explore single origin coffees from the world's great growing regions, including South America and Africa, or reach for one of our signature blends crafted on the roasting floor. If you like variety, our samplers and variety packs are an easy way to find a new favorite, and our Roaster's Choice subscription lets you explore unique microlots from around the world.

Organic, Decaf, and Lab-Tested Options

We process and package in a USDA Organic certified facility, and our Organic coffees carry the seal. You will also find our Mold & Mycotoxin Tested collection, where every batch is lab-tested for mold and mycotoxins. And if you are cutting back on caffeine, our Water Process decaf and half-caf coffees are decaffeinated without chemical solvents, for the same fresh roast with less of the buzz.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best coffee beans?

The best coffee beans are the ones roasted closest to the day you brew them, in the roast level you actually enjoy. Freshness matters more than any single origin or brand: coffee peaks in the days and weeks after roasting, which is why we roast our beans and ground coffee to order instead of stocking shelves. From there it comes down to taste. Bright and complex points to a light roast single origin, smooth and balanced points to a medium roast blend, and bold and dark points to our dark roasts. How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?

We roast our beans and ground coffee to order in our Pennsylvania facility and ship roaster-direct, so your coffee typically arrives within days of roasting. You can find the roast date on the white label on your bag, shown as a Julian date (the day of the year the coffee was roasted).

Should I buy whole bean or ground coffee?

Whole bean stays fresher longer because less surface area is exposed to oxygen, so grind just before brewing if you have a grinder. If you do not, our freshly ground coffee is ground the day it is roasted and sealed immediately, which still beats anything that has been sitting pre-ground in a warehouse. Do you roast decaf and organic coffee too?

Yes. We roast decaf and half-caf coffees (a dedicated lineup, not an afterthought) and a wide range of USDA Organic coffees.
